Common Questions about the J1 Internship & Traineeship Program

We at IRES know that making the decision to participate in the J1 Internship/Traineeship does not come without questions.  Today we wanted to share with you some of the most Common Questions regarding the program.
  • How do I apply?  It’s simple, send your resume or CV to info@ireservices.com.  We will review your resume or CV and mail you back with all the J1 Internship/Traineeship details, including the application and placement steps as well as the program pricing.
  • How long is the program?  The J1 Internship is for a maximum of 12 months and the J1 Traineeship is for a maximum of 18 months (for placement in the hospitality industry the maximum program length is 12 months).
  • Where will I be placed?  IRES places candidates throughout the United States.
  • How long does the process take?  This answer is not as simple as the previous questions.  There are many different factors that determine the length of the process, but normally the average length of processing is approximately 4 months from starting your application until arriving in the USA.  Now as I said before there are different factors that may increase this timeframe such as placement location, custom placement and available openings.
  • I am from _______, can I apply?  No matter your country of legal residency, you are permitted to apply for the J1 Internship/Traineeship program.
  • In what fields can I train?  IRES places candidates in the following areas:
    • Business Management, Marketing and Relates Support Services
    • All areas of the Hospitality Industry
    • Science Technologies
    • Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services
    • Architecture
    • Engineering

Don’t see your field list, contact IRES and ask.

If you have a question that has not been answered, please comment below or email us at info@ireservices.com.  We would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for reading and we are excited to have you here!

Sincerely,
